Connections Tutoring has helped my son learn how to read, and to read well. Barb is so patient and kind, she is incredibly skilled at teaching and truly cares for her students. We are so thankful to have found her, she helped our son grow from a non-reader to a confident one, who is no longer shy about reading out loud.

“We are so thankful for Barb and her skillful application of the Barton program! A few years ago I was at a loss when our 4th child was having trouble remembering his letters and sometimes flipping them within his words. We had already had three strong readers that had been trained to read with the same instruction. I was confused. I understood enough to know, that in my son’s case, it wasn’t an intelligence problem, but I certainly didn’t know what to do or where to turn to get the linguistic help Spencer needed. Then, I met Barb. We had came in to her building to visit another office, when I spotted her business card. I immediately ran upstairs to meet her. Her warmth, smile, and confidence in the Barton program as a solution, was my answer to prayer. She quickly explained how some individuals “decode” differently and that this program was designed to address those concerns. Throughout the duration of the program, Barb was exceptional both as a teacher and friend. She loves her students, and has been a great encouragement to both my son and myself. She also worked hard to accommodate our families busy schedule and was so patient when we needed flexibility in our appointment times. Mrs. Koyl has been tutoring my two grandchildren for about two years at my home. This is usually two to three times a week. She works mostly with my granddaughter, age 12 going on 13. She has dyslexia and was quite behind in school. I can’t say enough good about her.
